John Blake

Managing Director 

The guy behind The Midlands Ambulance Group! John works tirelessly to run all things 'Midlands Ambulance Group', whilst also working operationally on behalf of the NHS.

​

John puts in countless hours into ensuring the team have everything they need and provides valuable support to the team at events across the country.

​

John has been working in the health care industry since 2012 where he started out as a volunteer community responder for the local NHS Trust.

​

John often says, that he is not Midlands Ambulance Group, but the team who represent it are! â€‹â€‹â€‹

​

Sarah Buxton

Director of Human Resources

Whilst medically qualified, Sarah manages our HR & Administration department and also provides invaluable support as a Responder at events. When she's not in the 'MAG' office, she works full time for a fantastic education training company and her own support agency called Flamingo Creative! Busy lady!

​

Sarah is often found behind the camera, trying to get the perfect shot for social media, she is also found sitting pitch side supporting her local cricket team, Stapleford Cricket Club in Nottingham.

​​

Sarah, has been with the Midlands Ambulance Group since John first starting discussing the lack of care he had witnessed of medical providers at events over the years, hence his mission and passion for Excellence in Emergency Care -      Every Event, Every Time

Lucy Irons

Paramedic

Lucy joined the team whilst completing her Paramedic degree, she has provided exceptional care to patients who have come into contact with. Lucy, now a registered Paramedic has been deployed on multiple events across the country, you always know your in for a laugh when Lucy is on an event!

 

Lucy works full time for the NHS Ambulance Service and is often zipping around the south coast on blue lights responding to 999 calls.

​

Lucy is our first official Paramedic of the team, and we still remember the day she received her University results whilst deployed on an event, and the celebrations that came after as a team! 

​

Jamie Anderson

Technician

Jamie has worked with us on many events, Jamie brings his wealth of experience from working on Ambulances across the UK.

​

Jamie formerly worked for Military before joining the Ambulance Service and becoming qualified as a Technician, responding to 999 emergencies. Jamie and John previously worked together on Emergency Ambulances and attended a multitude of patients requiring their help. 

 

Jamie, is creating awesome designs for his clothing line, which will be launching soon.

​

Jamie, also works as one of our Event Team Leads and has led multiple events up and down the country and is regarded as one of the nicest people to work with. 

​

Gemma Luxton

Technician

Gemma, the magical technician!

​

Gemma came to us after her service with the Military. Gemma holds education training certification and often gives her time in assisting new team members to expand their skills and knowledge. 

 

Gemma still works operationally for the NHS. 

  

Gemma, is described as the one you want next to you when your having a medical emergency, Gemma provides excellent care and compassion to those she meets, either patients or other team members!

What a Gem!

Why is Gemma known as the magical technician? She is on a mission to redefine medicine and medical procedures for women!​

​

James O'Neill

Technician

James has a background in Emergency Planning and Close Protection services. Whilst qualified as a Technician for the Ambulance Service, James has used his skills across the world as a "medic"​

​

James background in Emergency Planning and Resilience, has proven invaluable to John when he has been completing Medical and Needs Risk Assessments, ensuring the correct cover for events to ensure John can continue his mission of Excellence in Emergency Care. â€‹

​

James and John worked on the Ambulances together and has supported John with his journey of  Midlands Ambulance Group! Recently James has been leading the way with Incident Management Qualifications and manages a company called TIQN.

​

In James' little spare time, he supports Red Horse Vale community responders charity on behalf of the local trust to his home! He has also been spotted out running with his dogs or completing ultra challenges to raise money for the charity!​

Bryan Mckeown

Student Paramedic

Bryan was recommended to come and join us from his friend Matthew, and instantly hit it off with the team!

 

Whilst medically qualified as a responder, Bryan is working towards his Paramedic degree and is currently attached to the Scottish Ambulance Service! Bryan works within our Scotland division of Midlands Ambulance Group

​

When Bryan and Matthew join us on an event together, they're know as the 'Pro-Claimers' as they have often been seen as far south as Bournemouth working an event with the team!

Matthew McKenna

Student Paramedic

Matthew has worked several events for us, across the country and is known for his sense of humor with the team and patients alike, Matthew has been know to be able help patients get through some distressing times.

 

Whilst medically qualified as a responder, Matthew is working towards his Paramedic degree and is currently attached to the Scottish Ambulance Service! Matthew works within our Scotland division of Midlands Ambulance Group! 

​

Matthew makes up the second half of the group and when working with Bryan on an event together, they're know as the 'Pro-Claimers' as they have often been seen as far south as Bournemouth working an event with the team!

Lele Lau

Event Responder

Lele, was recommended to join us at an event local to her home in the North West, she is known for going above and beyond for her colleagues and patients. 

​

Lele, holds many talents, as well as being one of our fantastic responders, being multi lingual, she is often working as a Close Protection Officer around the world.

 

LeLe is described by her colleagues as the life of the party! We've had the pleasure of Lele being on some of our amazing events.

Jayne Buxton

Event Responder

Jayne, joined us on an event and instantly became known as Mumma B amongst the team! 

 

Jayne, brings her wealth of experience and medical knowledge to the team as Jayne works day to day with in the medical services and as a Phlebotomist in a GP surgery! Jayne is often found supporting our patients and team members with the most professional care you could expect! ​

​

Jayne, is known for being the first one to join us on an event when the listing for the team goes up.

​

Jayne, is a constantly checking on everyone's welfare at an event and always has a bag full of goodies to keep us going during the day!
