Three Years and Counting: Providing Medical Cover for the MoD's Equestrian Trials at Melton Mowbray

For the third year running, Midlands Ambulance Group has been chosen to provide medical cover for the Ministry of Defence's Equestrian Trials, held at the Defence Animal Training Regiment in Melton Mowbray. It's a partnership we're genuinely proud of — and one that says a lot about what event organisers, including some of the most demanding clients in the country, actually need from a medical provider.

Why equestrian events need specialist cover

Equestrian trials carry a risk profile that's different from most events we cover. Falls, kicks, and collisions between riders, horses, and obstacles can happen suddenly and without warning, and the nature of the injuries involved — from minor knocks to more serious impact trauma — means the team on-site needs to be ready to respond fast, every time, with no margin for hesitation.

Working on an active Ministry of Defence site adds another layer entirely.
