Three Years and Counting: Medical Cover for the Banbury Triathlon

For the third year running, Midlands Ambulance Group has provided event medical cover for the Banbury Triathlon in Oxfordshire - a partnership that's grown alongside the event itself, and one we're proud to keep coming back to.

Why triathlons need a different kind of cover

Triathlons bring their own specific medical demands. Competitors are pushing themselves across three disciplines - swim, cycle, and run - often in challenging weather, over several hours, which means the team on-site needs to be ready for everything from muscle injuries and dehydration to more serious cardiac or collision-related incidents on the bike course. Cover also needs to move with the event, with medical provision spanning the swim exit, transition areas, the cycle route, and the finish line, rather than being fixed to a single location.
