Charity Sleep Out – Birmingham City Centre
Standing Together to End Homelessness: Midlands Ambulance Group Supports Birmingham Charity Sleep Out Last night, Birmingham City Centre became the backdrop
Last night, Birmingham City Centre became the backdrop for an important and emotional charity event - a community sleep‑out designed to raise awareness and vital funds to help end homelessness across the UK. Participants braved the cold streets for one night, experiencing a small but powerful glimpse into the reality faced by thousands of people who sleep rough every single day.
According to the UK Government’s Rough Sleeping Data Framework (June 2026), an estimated 8,748 people were sleeping rough across England, with 3,980 people sleeping rough on a single night during that period. Long‑term rough sleeping also remains a critical issue, with 3,253 people experiencing prolonged street homelessness. These figures highlight the scale of the challenge - and why events like this matter.
Midlands Ambulance Group was proud to provide full medical coverage throughout the night, supporting participants as they took part in this meaningful cause. Our frontline ambulance personnel were on hand to ensure safety, wellbeing, and reassurance for everyone involved.
This event not only raised funds but also raised awareness, encouraging people to reflect on the harsh conditions faced by those without a safe place to call home. We extend our thanks to the organisers for their dedication and professionalism - and we look forward to working with them again in the future.
